Alibaba
Alibaba safeguards intellectual property rights (IPR) across its e-commerce ecosystem through a technology-driven framework that protects rights holders and helps keep platforms trusted for consumers and merchants. From the U.S. alone, $53.4 billion of goods were sold to Chinese buyers on Alibaba’s platforms in 2024, and EU member states exported €89.3 billion of goods to China through Alibaba marketplaces from 2022 to 2024.
Alibaba also pairs seller vetting with a best in class four pillars of IPR enforcement: proactive monitoring (increasingly AI-enabled), notice-and-takedown (NTD), offline enforcement, and stakeholder engagement, with emphasis on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
