Gail Wheeler is Vice President and General Counsel of Hermes of Paris, Inc., the New York subsidiary and US operating arm of French parent company Hermes International based in Paris. Gail oversees all legal matters affecting the Hermes Group of Companies in the USA (which include Hermes and other Hermes owned brands such as John Lobb + Saint Louis Crystal + Art de La Table), including real estate, corporate, data privacy, compliance, employment matters and litigation. Gail began her in house legal career at Hermes in 2014. She was the first US based in house lawyer for Hermes USA and is responsible for developing the Hermes US based legal team which has grown to 2 lawyers (including Gail) + 2 paralegals since 2014.

Prior to joining Hermes, Gail was “Special Retail counsel” at the New York office of Proskauer Rose where she specialized in representing Hermes and other luxury retail clients in their leasing matters. From 2005 to 2014 Gail worked on the roll out of over 20 Hermes retail stores located in multiple states throughout USA. During her 9 years at Proskauer Rose she also represented European luxury brands Giorgio Armani, Burberry and Italian jewelry brand Ippolita for their retail leasing in the USA.
