Penny is a Managing Director and General Counsel at Accordion – bringing over two decades of legal, regulatory, and compliance experience at large multi-national companies, both in the financial services / investment banking and consumer products / retail sectors. She oversees the firm’s global legal and compliance matters while acting as a subject matter expert in the consumer products, beauty / wellness, and retail space. Before joining Accordion, Penny was the Acting General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Revlon Inc. (formerly NYSE: REV). In this role, she was responsible for the global legal, compliance and physical security functions of a $2.2B+ iconic consumer products company with a large portfolio of brands (including Elizabeth Arden), offered through omni-channels in over 150 countries worldwide. She served as Revlon’s Corporate Secretary to the Board of Directors and as a member of Revlon’s executive leadership team. Prior to Revlon, Penny spent 20 years in the financial services and investment banking industries – most recently as Managing Director and Head of Corporate Legal for Nomura, a Japanese global investment bank. Before Nomura, she practiced as a commercial litigator with Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP in New York and represented many multi-national companies across a variety of industries. Today, Penny frequently speaks on panels where she shares her expertise on topics at the intersection of luxury brands and finance, including how beauty and fashion companies can thrive in PE and M&A with real value creation strategies while tactically maintaining their brand identities and customer relationships.
