Simone Pallesi is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Castiglion del Bosco – Montalcino since April 2010.
Situated within the UNESCO-listed Val d’Orcia Natural Park and in the heart of the Brunello di Montalcino wine-making region, Castiglion del Bosco is a 4,200-acre privately owned country estate. It features a highly successful, luxury villa and suites hospitality business managed by Rosewood Hotel Group, the only private golf club in Italy and the 5th largest producer of Brunello di Montalcino wine.
Upon joining Castiglion del Bosco, Simone led the change of business model for the hospitality business and completed a significant debt restructuring. In 2015 he executed an equity transaction to strengthen the hospitality business’ capital to accelerate its development.
In 2022, Simone led the team through a complex equity transaction, resulting in a change of control for the entire property.
Today Simone supervises the financial, economic and operational activities of the group, with direct responsibility on personnel, administration, legal and corporate affairs. Real estate development projects are under his responsibility also.
Prior to joining Castiglion del Bosco, Simone spent around 20 years in finance and management, holding positions at IMI – Istituto Mobiliare Italiano (1991-1993), Banque Paribas London (1993-2000) in Investment Banking and as CEO of Atlas Capital SIM (2001-2010), a funds of hedge funds asset manager.
Simone graduated from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 1990 with a degree in Economics with the final grade of 110/110, cum laude.
Simone, born in Rome on June, 5th 1965, is a native Italian speaker, fluent in English (written and spoken) and proficient in French.
