Tom is the General Counsel of De Beers and has responsibility for the legal affairs and Company Secretarial function of the De Beers Group of companies. He leads an international team of lawyers supporting the De Beers mining, trading and retail businesses, brands and joint ventures on a wide variety of legal issues impacting all aspects of the diamond supply chain across its key operating jurisdictions (UK, South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Canada, the USA and China).

Tom started his career with Allen & Overy LLP and has a strong track record of senior international legal management and governance roles across a number of industries including at Element Six (manufacture of synthetic diamonds) and Rexam plc (a multinational FTSE 100 packaging business). Tom also is a member of the leadership team for the Anglo American plc Legal and Corporate Affairs function.
