Raffaella Romano is WW General Counsel and Compliance Officer of Bottega Veneta, a company belonging to the French luxury group, Kering.
She holds global responsibility for legal affairs and compliance within the Bottega Veneta group. After graduating with honors in Law from the University of Naples Federico II, she practiced as a lawyer from 1995 to 2013, first in Naples and then in Milan. In 2000, she joined the law firm De Berti Jacchia Franchini Forlani, becoming a partner in January 2010. Her primary practice areas were commercial and corporate law. In addition to her professional qualification in Italy, she also holds the English professional title of Solicitor of England and Wales.
In September 2013, she left her private practice to take on the role of General Counsel for the Brioni group, another company within the Kering group. She also served as Compliance Officer (from 2016) and Sustainability Director (from 2018) at Brioni. She left Brioni in September 2019 to assume her current position at Bottega Veneta.
In April 2012, she obtained a PhD in "Business Law" from Bocconi University in Milan. She has been a contract lecturer, as a tutor, for the Commercial Law course at the School of Specialization for Legal Professions at the University of Milan. Since 2019, she has collaborated with LUISS Guido Carli in Rome as a lecturer for the Fashion Law Master's program.
