Dr. Federica Carlotto

Dr. Federica Carlotto is the Course Leader of the “Art of Luxury” programme at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, and cultural strategist for businesses. Her research and consultancy activity focuses on the coding and analysis of the social meanings underpinning the production, branding and consumption in the field of luxury and fashion.
Federica has presented at conferences in Europe, USA, Canada, Japan, Australia. She collaborates with boutique consultancies on projects on luxury products & retail experience, and runs workshops and training sessions for companies and start-ups. She also delivers guest lectures for higher education.
Her portfolio of publications includes a peer-reviewed monograph, book chapters and journal articles on fashion and luxury. Among the latest outputs, Federica has co-edited a book on fashion for Brill (“Engaging with Fashion- Perspectives on Communication, Education and Business”), contributing with a chapter on fashion and time. She has co-authored a netnographic research on digital perceptions about the country of origin of luxury products, which she has presented at the MRS Luxury Conference last September.
Federica has collaborated with Sage and Routledge as consultant on editorial projects about luxury. Since 2017, she is part of the judge panel for the Transform Awards Europe.
