Trademark victory after a 22-year battle: An insight into a landmark case in China
DLA Piper advised Manolo Blahnik, the world-famous shoe designer and founder of the eponymous luxury brand, on his successful re-trial application before China’s Supreme People’s Court, following a long-running trademark dispute in China which lasted over 20 years.
Edward Chatterton, Partner at DLA Piper who led the case, will be joined by Georgina McManus, CLO & Company Secretary of Manolo Blahnik, for a fireside chat to discuss this case in more detail. During the discussion, they will share their experience and learnings from this case. Edward will also provide a more general update on the current state of intellectual property protection in China, including the proposed changes to the China Trademark Law which are currently in the pipeline.
