A life-long diplomat and Ambassadeur de France, Maurice Gourdault-Montagne has an impressive track record in international diplomacy. He is a recognised specialist of the Middle-East where he lived for several years. Maurice Gourdault-Montagne served as Secretary General of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France (2017-2019).
Prior to that, Maurice Gourdault-Montagne was the diplomatic adviser of France’s President Jacques Chirac between 2002 and 2007 – acting as his sherpa during G8 summits, before being appointed as French ambassador to the United Kingdom in 2007, to Germany in 2011 and to China in 2014.
