Mario was born and raised in New York City into an iconic luxury goods family His upbringing enabled him to assimilate all of the aesthetic attributes that served him well when he joined the family business in 1979. He rose quickly through the company’s ranks and due to the untimely passing of his father, he assumed the Presidency of the company in 1985. Over the decades he became a strategic and hands-on general management executive with proven luxury brand building experience, market development and P&L management skills. He is a seasoned executive that is able to provide sound, strategic vision across sales, marketing and operations disciplines to deliver sales volume, market share and profit enhancement.

From 1985 to 2007, Mario was President and COO of Buccellati NA, a privately-held, world-renowned 250-year-old designer and manufacturer of fine jewelry, museum quality silver pieces, flatware, watches, and specialty items.

Since retiring from Buccellati in 2007, Mario has been able to branch out and enjoy many of his passions. He started a small private consulting company, MB Independent. This company’s mission was to assist young promising jewelry designers in achieving their vision through mentorship and guidance.

He recently launched an entry level jewelry brand, GENESI by Mario Buccellati, which debuted on QVC and is now in the early stages of global distribution

Following his lifelong love of music, together with his wife, Mario formed a production company, Deena Miller Productions, to supply live entertainment to high-end events. In a brief time, the company has grown exponentially from year to year and has established a worldwide clientele with performances as far away as Morocco and Bali.

In addition, Mario has been able to participate with greater frequency on several non-profit boards in the greater New York area lending his expertise in organisational governance.

A father of 5 adult children, Mario currently resides in Florida with his wife and two dogs.
