Gordon Ritchie

An early career in retail in Scotland and a drive to succeed led Gordon up the ladder with large retailers before running independent stores in Aberdeen where he was free to shape the overall direction of the businesses.

A switch into the music business for a period brought Gordon to London, eventually returning to retail working for Joseph Ettedgui at designer brand Joseph. An inspirational figure.

Moving on to other brands where he built and drove new business, Gordon built a reputation as a highly regarded and connected Brand professional with international market expertise, positioning brands with the most prestigious retailers in the world. across Menswear, Womenswear, Footwear and Accessories.

Crombie – (the first time,) Developing and implementing a new wholesale operation at Crombie, taking the brand from 1 wholesale account to trading in 35 countries in less than 3 years. In the first season the collection was sold in 22 countries.Kirk Originals – As Managing Director revamping and relaunching a new updated version of Kirk Originals. The new version of the brand has been, and still is, hugely influential in the sunglasses market.

As a Consultant Gordon has continued to work for various brands in MD roles as well as writing for publications like the FT Weekend before leading the acquisition of historic Scottish brand Crombie which was completed in February this year.
