Dr Felicia Caponigri

Felicia Caponigri is a Term Teaching Professor at Notre Dame Law School, where she also directs the Law School’s international and graduate programs. A comparative fashion and cultural heritage law scholar, Caponigri’s research and work explores the role of brand heritage and cultural heritage in laws applied to design, luxury, and fashion, and analyzes the links between cultural property law and copyright law. She received her Ph.D. in Cultural Heritage from IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca, Italy under the direction of Professor Lorenzo Casini and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Notre Dame Law School. Caponigri was previously Of Counsel for an Italian lifestyle company and currently teaches Fashion Law and courses in cultural heritage and design law at Notre Dame Law School. Caponigri’s work has been published in the International Journal of Constitutional Law, the Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal, the Notre Dame Law Review, AEDON, the Rivista Trimestrale di Diritto Pubblico, the Case Western Reserve Journal of International Law, and the Notre Dame Journal of International and Comparative Law. She has guest lectured at institutions and conferences in the United States, Ireland, Denmark, Hong Kong, Chile and Italy.
