Ed Perkins is a Senior Adviser at Portland, joining from his role as Communications Secretary to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.
He led communications on the birth of Prince George – memorably carrying the official announcement of the Prince’s birth by hand to be displayed on the gates of Buckingham Palace, under the eyes of the world’s media – as well as the Cambridges’ hugely successful tour of Australia and New Zealand this year, and most recently Prince Harry’s Invictus Games in London.
Prior to his role with The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, he was Assistant Press Secretary to The Queen in 2007, and also served as Press Secretary to The Duke of York. He went on to become Deputy Press Secretary to The Queen and Head of News at Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year, led on many events including the Queen’s Jubilee Concert. He also led communications for the Queen’s historic State Visit to Ireland in 2011. Ed began his career as a journalist, spending eight years in television news at the BBC 6 o’clock News, and the ITV Evening News.
Coronavirus: Event Postponed until 3rd September 2020
As I am sure you will be aware, the Covid-19 pandemic is having a major impact on businesses around the world. Given the most recent developments, with many organisations implementing “work from home” and no travel policies, we feel that the only sensible thing to do is to postpone the Luxury Law Summit, which as you know was scheduled for 31 March.
New date: Thursday 3 September
Venue: Ham Yard Hotel, London [unchanged]
We are sure you will understand the necessity of this decision and we do apologise for any inconvenience caused. We are currently working with our speakers to ensure that we are able to continue to provide a strong agenda and will also be able to provide a well-timed review of the impact of the virus and best-practice recovery planning.
