Bianca Quets Luzi

After stints at other fashion houses Maison Martin Margiela and Dirk Bikkembergs, as well as a career in politics, Bianca Quets Luzi (°1976 Genk, Belgium) started at Raf Simons’ namesake menswear brand in 2008. One year later she was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the company, a position she’s been holding ever since. The Raf Simons brand has seen international recognition ever since it was founded in 1995, being highly respected for its innovative and intelligent approach of fashion design. Simons – Quets Luzi form a quasi-symbiotic duo, where Simons can focus only and fully on the creative, while Quets Luzi overviews the financial and strategic side. Under Quets Luzi’s helm the fashion house regained full independence after having worked with a licensing partner for years, and has recently expanded into womenswear. Next to running the Raf Simons label, she is also taking care of the financial part of Simons’ extensive art collection.

Quets Luzi’s political career stretched from 2003 until 2007. Right after obtaining her Master’s degree in Economics and Marketing at the University of Urbino, Italy, she returned to Belgium to work at the cabinet of Patrick Dewael, at the time elected Belgian Deputy Prime Minister as well as Minister of Internal Affairs of the Belgian Federal government. From 2006 until 2007, she was Town Councilor of her hometown Genk.
