Martyn is a solicitor who has significant experience of all aspects of IP litigation. Martyn’s work often has an international aspect and he has considerable experience of co-ordinating legal teams in various jurisdictions. Martyn also deals with IP agreements; drafting, negotiating and advising.
Lucy Pope is a UK Chartered Trade Mark Attorney and a Trade Mark Director at HGF Limited with longstanding experience working in the field of brand protection. This includes assisting clients with their choice of new brands as well as strategies to protect and commercialise trade marks through global registration, as well as defending brands against unauthorised third party use. Lucy has worked in-house as well as for international law firms and has advised clients across many industry categories. These include luxury and retail and specifically online couture fashion, clothing, cosmetics and food and beverages.

Ian Benjamin is partner in BCLP’s Restructuring and Insolvency practice in London. He has worked extensively on business turnarounds and both creditor and debtor led restructurings. He regularly acts for lenders, distressed investment funds, insolvency practitioners, trade creditors, landlords, directors, sponsors and foreign lawyers. He is a member of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals (R3), the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and INSOL Europe. Ian is described in the UK Legal 500 as “technically astute” and having “excellent commercial judgement” (2019).
Rob Croxen is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Restructuring practice in London. He brings more than 20 years of experience in advising businesses in stressed and distressed situations. Mr. Croxen has worked with clients across a range of industries, including real estate, construction, retail, casual dining, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, healthcare and distribution.
Antony specialises in advising clients in the retail sector on branding, designs and online issues. He leads HGF’s retail team and, prior to joining HGF, performed a similar role at a multi-national law firm. He has advised many fashion clients in relation to garments, footwear and other products.
As a contentious IP lawyer, Antony has handled many major cases including Fields v Klaus Kobec Limited, Julius Saaman and others v Tetrosyl Limited and Specsavers v Asda, each of which are leading cases in the field of trade mark infringement and passing off.
Antony has a long standing reputation in internet-related work. He is one of the experts appointed by the World Intellectual Property Organisation for determining domain name disputes. Antony is also an expert appointed by the Czech Arbitration Court in relation to .eu domain names.
Tom is Legal Consultant to Bonhams auctioneers and Consultant -Art and Law Studies, at the Sotheby’s Institute of Art. A solicitor at Sotheby’s for 20 years most of which as a Senior Director and European General Counsel, Tom previously worked at the private client specialist Withers and Freshfields the international corporate law firm, including a spell in Brussels and a year on secondment with the Corporate Strategy Department at The Rank Organisation plc.
Tom serves on the Committees of the British Art Market Federation and the Society of Fine Art Auctioneers and Valuers, is a member of PAIAM (Professional Advisors to the International Art Market), was Master (2016-17) and now a Charitable Trustee for The Worshipful Company of Arts Scholars, and is a trustee of the Rolls Building Art and Education Trust.

Given the most recent developments, with many organisations implementing “work from home” and no travel policies, we feel that the only sensible thing to do is to postpone the Luxury Law Summit, which as you know was scheduled for 31 March.
